The OpenEVSE Energy Monitoring site isn't responding :-(
I stripped outer insulation and wires as indicated in this guide, and then found that fitting the two coils in was awkward -- but I did eventually succeed. I haven't actually tried this, but I believe that stripping everything 1.5" longer than indicated here would make it easier. This would be 8.5" off the outer insulation, and trim the ground to 7.5" and the power leads to 6.5".
If you can't find this Variable Resistor, it's because you're looking on the wrong board :-)
It's on the display board, not the main Arduino board.
It would be good to tell us which hole to enlarge. In this picture, I think it's the one on the left, to take the incoming 14-50 connector cable, correct?
benjatelcom is right. There is no virtue in compelling people to force parts into position. My fingers still sting from how hard I had to grab those spacers when getting the threads to catch. One popped out of my fingers and I had to hunt it down on the floor. These should be 5/8" screws.
Also, the window I received had protective coating on only one side, while the brace had it on both.
