There is always a +/- value to resistance. I got 45.9 on mine, My guess is that you should be ok with 44. With this test you are mainly measuring the resistance of the orange wire, so it really depends on how long you actually cut this wire to be. I am thinking that the test was just to make sure you connected the correct wires together.
