  1. If the charging station is not yet configured or can not connect to the configured network OpenEVSE will boot with the default WiFi network and password.

    • Note the last 4 digits represented as XXXX. These are used later.

    • If the Portal does not automatically open, open a web browser (Chrome recommended) enter openevse_XXXX.local or 192.168.4.1 for the address.

    • If a WiFi network is available select it from the list and enter the password and click connect.

    • If connection is successful the OpenEVSE_XXXX network will disappear.

    • The numerical address will now be assigned by your network and will change. If your station has a LCD display the new assigned address will display during boot.

    • Alternatively, "WiFi Standalone Mode" is available if no WiFi networks are available. Internet based services are not available in Standalone mode.

    • Energy Monitoring - setup Energy Monitoring on emoncms.org or data.openevse.com.

    • OhmConnect - Earn credit for reducing demand during peek times. California and other major US markets.

    • MQTT for OpenEVSE smartphone apps (*Coming Soon). Alternatively can be used to integrate into your home automation system.
